Types of teeth

A human adult has maximum 32 teeth. Last 4 teeth come at a very late age so adults have 28 teeth for some time. 

Kids have temporary teeth for some time. These teeth are called milk teeth. Milk teeth fall as the kid grows.

Incisors are eight frontal teeth. They are broad and flat. They are used for cutting and biting our food.

Canines are the sharpest teeth. They are four in number, 2 on the upper side and 2 on the lower side. They are used for tearing the food. Flesh-eating animals have well developed canine teeth.

Molars and premolars are used for chewing and grinding the food. We have eight molars and eight premolars.

Third molar or wisdom teeth develop very late in age. They are four in numbers. Sometimes they cause crowding of teeth and are painful.

Herbivorous have well-developed incisors, molars and premolars.

Enamel is a substance which covers the tooth crown. It is white in color. It prevents teeth from decay. It is the hardest substance in the human body.
