Earth is one of the eight planets that orbit around, the sun in the Solar system. Earth is the only planet in the solar system that can support life. It is said to be formed around 4.5 billion years ago. It is one of the four rocky planets present inside of the solar system. Earth is the only planet in our solar system which has a large amount of water in it and because of the presence of water, it is the home to millions of plants and animals. People sometimes call the Earth as 'Blue planet' because 74% of its surface is covered with frozen or liquid water.
Earth revolves around the sun in its orbit and takes 365 days and 6 hours to complete one revolution. Variety of seasons we experience on this planet are because of revolution only. Along with this, Earth also rotates on its own axis causing day and night every day and is completed in 24 hours.
