Force

In order to perform any type of work, we need to apply a significant amount of force to an object along with a significant amount of energy. The premise infers that Work, Force and Energy are interdependent on each other. We can say that work can only be done if we have the energy to apply the force.

All the normal activities we perform on a daily basis such as pulling or pushing a car, catching a ball, throwing a ball, cycling, running, etc. Each task performed by us is done by applying force only.

Force is the push or a pull that is applied on an object. If it is applied to move an object then it is also applied to stop it as well. We can say that force is used to change the direction and position of an object. It can also increase or decrease the speed of any moving body.

There are different types of forces that we encounter on a daily basis-

  • The force used by animals and human beings to lift, pull or push things is a muscular force.
  • The force that applied on any object or any type of body with the help of tools or machine is called mechanical force.
  • Some forces which exist in nature are Gravitational force and friction force. These forces plays a key role in the survival of all the organisms on the planet. Many a time, when you throw an object upwards, it always comes back to the ground only. It due to the Gravitational force that every object is pulled towards the ground only. On the other hand, Frictional force is responsible for all the types of activities that we perform. Be it holding an object, walking, running, or driving a vehicle, all are performed due to the frictional force that exists between two surfaces in the contact.
