Contractions

As the word expresses itself, Contraction means to squeeze something to make it small or short. Contraction is - in which two words joined together and made shorter by placing an apostrophe where the letters have been omitted.

Example: I am can also be written as I’m. Here ‘a’ is omitted and in place of that an apostrophe is used.
