Home Safety

Electricity and fire

  • Dry hands before touching switches. Never pull a plug by the wire.
  • Keep matchsticks and lighters away from children. Turn off gas knob after cooking.
  • Never throw water on an electrical fire. Switch off main power and use a dry blanket or proper extinguisher.

Kitchen and bathroom

  • Place sharp tools in a safe rack. Handle hot pans with mitts.
  • Wipe wet floors to prevent slips. Keep medicines labeled and out of reach.

Road Safety

Crossing

Use zebra crossing. Look right-left-right, then walk, do not run.

Signals

Red - stop, Yellow - get ready, Green - go if safe.

On a vehicle

  • Wear seat belt. Two-wheeler: wear helmet.
  • Keep hands inside the bus. Do not distract the driver.

  • Walk on stairs, hold the handrail. Do not push or race in corridors.
