Spellings

Spelling is the way in which one spell a word. It is the process or an activity of writing or naming the letters of a word.

It is really important to correctly spell the word, so as to make your writing effective. The words used should be expressive and should be able to describe your thought of expression.

There are many words that are confused while we speak and while we write. They are known as homophones. The words may sound similar but may express different meanings.

Example: Accept and Except: are the two words that sound similar when we speak but both words have different meanings.

Accept means to accept or to agree on something,

Whereas

Except means exception or excluded.

Similarly, There are many words that are spelled differently and have the same pronunciation.
