Excretory system
Excretory system helps us in removing waste material from our body. E.g. urinary system, sweating system, removal of undigested food through defecation.
Kidney, nephrons and urinary bladder are part of the urinary system.
A nephron is a tiny filtering unit in the kidney which filters blood and excretes waste material as urine. There are millions of nephrons within a kidney. Nephrons are called the functional unit of the kidney. It resembles a tiny funnel.
Excess urea, water and salts are removed by the kidneys and waste leaves the body as urine.
The lungs, kidneys and skin are excretory organs.
Excess carbon dioxide is removed from the body through the lungs.
Excess water and salt are removed from the skin through sweating.
